Right drink for growing kids

With Coca-Cola and Pepsi and other branded sodas fighting over market shares, the losers in this battle are the people, specially the younger ones. Highly loaded in sugar content these drinks have a lot of calories in them but no nutrition. Kids who grow up on these stuffs are being robbed of their nutrition requirements and risk obesity.

It is not possible to keep an eye on what kids drink outside their homes. To help them make better choices, parents need to educate their children on what they should be drinking. Three drinks that make better choices to caffeinated beverages any time are;

Milk: Milk, especially low fat milk should be taken by children and adults alike. Your teenager should be getting a serving of about 4 glasses of low fat milk a day.

Juice: When it comes to juices, always go for the 100% fruit juice which has minimum amount of sugar content and more vitamins and nutrients than other fruit drinks. However, it is always advisable to substitute fruit juice with real fruits.

Water: Water makes up a staggering 70% of our body weight. Without water, our body cannot function properly. So how much water should we drink in a day? A good estimate is to take your body weight in pounds and divide that number in half. That gives you the number of ounces of water per day that you need to drink. For example, if you weigh 160 pounds, you should drink at least 80 ounces of water per day.
