Sagar InfoSys, on 25th June, Saturday, launched two new products of Kaspersky Lab: Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2012 and Kaspersky Internet Security 2012 at a press conference held at The Everest Hotel, New Baneshwor.

Kaspersky Lab, a leading developer of secure content and threat management solutions, released the two new software that are designed to provide internet users with maximum protection and convenience. Launched in Bangladesh earlier last week, Nepal became the second country in Asia Pacific to have the products made available.

Sagar InfoSys, the sole-authorized distributor in Nepal since 2008, started out when most of the Nepalese computer and internet users were not fully aware of having to actually buy software as protection against threats. Now, among all the pirated software and applications, Kaspersky stands as the only licensed software in this region.

The new versions of Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2012 and Kaspersky Internet Security 2012 incorporate the most advanced and effective protection technologies. One of their specialties is a cloud-based reputation database. It makes the most up-to-date threat information available to users by regularly exchanging information between products installed on the users’ machines and the centralized databases in the cloud. It also helps in filtering spam mailings and has minimal impact on a computer’s running speed.

Another feature highlighted at the press conference was Parental Control which prevents children and employees from visiting inappropriate sites as well as from spending unnecessary time on the computer.

Present at the event as a special guest was Managing Director of Kaspersky Lab, South Asia, Altaf Halde who said, “Through this function, we want to show the focus the company has on the country. We are happy to launch Nepal’s first cloud and hybrid protection for PC security, considering all kinds of concerns consumers may have. We already cover 80% market share of Nepal and we hope for further achievement in the country.”

Also shedding light on the products, Channel Marketing Director Jagannath Patnaik said, “With new viruses emerging every day, we intend to give the users a very happy internet using experience. Thus, we’re glad to introduce user-friendly products which are simpler and easier to use.”

Kaspersky Lab has been providing at more than 60% less special rate than that of international market rates for Nepalese consumers. And at the event, Sagar Lakhe, CEO & Founder of Sagar InfoSys announced that the products were available at 30% less than the marked price as Launching Offer.
